A warm welcome to the website of the City of Bath Male Choir, founded in February 2006, a Choir that is making a BIG sound and gaining a huge reputation. Have you seen the City of Bath Male Choir on the BBC Last Choir Standing TV show?

Choir members come from across the area and is for men between 16 and 65 who love to sing, you can read some of their comments on our website.

The Choir was formed by Grenville Jones in January 2006 and now totals 76 singers. Grenville’s target is a Choir of 80, almost there!

2008 is another very busy year for the Choir who visited Alkmaar in Holland in June. Alkmaar is Bath’s twin town and The Mayor of Bath (The Choir Patron) accompanied the Choir on the concert tour. The annual concert this year is moving to the Bath Forum, full details below, we hope to see you there.

 

 

Last Choir Standing?

Along with 100’s of other UK Choirs The City of Bath Male Choir entered this new BBC1 Saturday night show to discover the ‘Last Choir Standing!’ The picture above was taken when the boys were at the Cadogan Hall for the first knock-out heat singing for judges Russell Watson, Suzi Digby and Sharon D. Clarke. Watch our progress in the weeks ahead – we’ll sing our hearts out, after-all, as Russell says, this is Grenville’s WALL OF SOUND!

Over a weekend in June 2007, the Choir recorded its first CD at Beechen Cliff Methodist Church. The CD is called Anthem  and has 9 items, is priced £7, £10 to include postage and packing. Our next concert date


Saturday November 8th
– Bath Forum

Come and hear the Choir at our 2008 Annual concert in the Bath Forum, a 1500 seat concert venue in the heart of the City. The Choir will be singing many of their popular songs including (of course) I Believe, Nothing Like a Dame and Unchained Melody. There will be other guests on stage with Grenville Jones as compere.

Tickets are now available, priced £15 downstairs, £15 front circle upstairs and £10 in the rear circle upstairs. They are unreserved and the doors will open at 6.30pm with full licensed facilities before and during the interval. Click here for more details of concerts
